Terms & Conditions for Members

Much as we all hate the small print, Terms and Conditions of this service are important to us both so that we know where we stand. There is nothing unusual or nasty here so don't feel put off and please accept our honourable intentions to provide you with a fair and ethical service.

The guiding principles under which we operate Holiday-Buddies are as follows: In particular:
  • Membership is a privilege and can be terminated at any time by Holiday-Buddies for any reason. This is for the protection of the members.
  • We will operate our database under the principles of the Data Protection Commissioner as defined in UK law. In other words we will not abuse the data we hold on you and you may check the accuracy with us at any time on payment of £25 (plus VAT). In turn, the Applicant consents to us holding his or her personal details in electronic form and the electronic processing of such data as is necessary. Information will be held for the period of membership and for 12 months following expiry of membership. Please check out our Privacy Statement.
  • We will not use data held about our customers to knowingly subject them to unwanted email. However, the Company may, from time to time, advise its customers of changes to the services provided by Holiday-Buddies, major changes to the Terms and Conditions or other information the Company considers members should be made aware of.
  • We will notify the Applicant when his or her Holiday-Buddies membership application has been processed and inform them whether their application has been successful.
  • The Applicant must provide true and accurate information when applying for membership. Proof may be required as evidence in the event of a dispute. False declarations may result in early termination of membership.
  • The Applicant undertakes to notify us promptly of any changes to his or her details.
  • The Applicant is responsible for his or her own conduct and decisions at all times.
  • The Applicant is responsible for renewing his or her Holiday-Buddies membership if they want to continue receiving the service beyond the period of membership applied for. This is achieved by paying the current fee. If we do not receive payment before the membership period expires, the Applicant accepts that membership will automatically lapse.
  • Some members subscribed when a claim-back scheme was operating prior to 20 June 2007. For those members, the following applies. To be eligible for the £25 claim-back, the Applicant must have paid a full membership subscription and received no introductions from Holiday-Buddies. Applicants must request their claim-back in writing (email is acceptable) within 3 months of the date membership expired. Holiday-Buddies will acknowledge all claims on receipt of the written request. If you requested an amendment to any of your original applicant details during the course of your membership, these changes will be taken into account. If you dispute that we have made any suitable matches then you have one opportunity to appeal and state your case. Our decision on the £25 claim-back will be fair and final.
  • The Applicant will not use the Service for unlawful, unethical or immoral activity. Unethical and immoral are defined by the generally accepted views by the majority of normal men and women.
  • We will check all external websites for suitability before providing a link to them but are not responsible for their content. Users should be aware that ownership and content does change over time. Users should contact us if they encounter a link from this site to an unsuitable one and we will consider removing the link as a matter of urgency.
  • The Applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless any director, employee or agent of Solution Management Ltd, Holiday-Buddies against any loss and/or damages (including legal costs) awarded by a court as a result of action brought by a third party because of misuse of his or her Holiday-Buddies membership.
  • Removal of any part of these Terms and Conditions because they are invalid or unenforceable will not affect the retained conditions.
  • Legal challenges to these Terms and Conditions must be under Scottish law and must be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. Notices shall be in writing and shall be served personally or sent by registered first-class post to the registered offices of Solution Management Ltd.
  • These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time. The current version will be made available on the Holiday-Buddies site.
